TO ALL MY ETHICAL PEOPLE...

SAWASDEE PHI MAI, KHRAP!

Before anything else, let me wish you and your families a wonderful Thai New Year and a safe and fun-filled Songkran Break...!

Now...down to business...! I have a number of SONGKRAN BREAK HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS for you to work on given the 10 days you are going to "miss" seeing me and/or “miss” being in my class.

FIRST…you have the entire Songkran Break to re-read and take notes (in case you have not!) on Chapter 6 of the text...Conscience and Moral Development. Then, in your Ethics NB, I would like you to formulate 7-10 questions pertaining to that chapter that you strongly feel need to be addressed and discussed thoroughly. Make sure your questions are relevant enough to everything we have discussed so far from the text and it will generate a good and worthwhile discussion and thinking among us in class. Furthermore, have an answer, based on what you think, for each of your question...!

SECOND…revisit your Community Service Programs from the First Semester and write a two-page update of what has transpired so far regarding the project you started...A4/F12/DS/TNR. Make sure you get your updates from your contact person/people from the organizations you sought help from last semester. I will be asking you to give us a 2-3 minute presentation of where your project is currently at when we get back from the break...!

THIRD…on an A4/F12/DS/TNR, write me a two page assessment of our Ethics Class for the year. Evaluate and criticize things we did that you felt were beneficial to you as a learner, and those that you felt we could have done away with. Be as honest as you can and I would appreciate more constructive criticisms rather than just negative criticisms. Compare our focus during the first part of the Academic Year with our focus once our text arrived and was utilized in class...!

LASTLY…on an A4, put together a list of Vocabulary Words (no less than 20) we took up in class that helped you comprehend the concepts we have been discussing. Make sure you define it based on your own words and not the given definition from the text or the dictionary...!

That’s All Folks! Have a Safe and Wonderful Songkran Break and come back refreshed and ready to Rock-N-Roll for the final stretch of the year. This is it…the end zone…you have to give it all you got since there is no more room for “I’ll do better next quarter.” Be good and get all your homework/assignments out of the way as soon as possible so that you can enjoy your break to the max…CIAO!!!

TO ALL MY ETHICAL PEEPS...

KHONG XI FAH CHAI...HONG PAO NA LAI?!

Here are your Chinese New Year Break homework/assignments...!

FIRST...answer the question on the movie "Black & White" on an A4/F12/DS/TNR; I will be collecting this as soon as we get back from the break. ANNY & SAREE, since you were not there during the last day, try to find a copy of the movie (stars Robert Carlyle) and watch it...if not, I will lend you my copy on Monday, 11 February 2008 and Tuesday. 12 February 2008...whoever borrows it first turns in their paper immediately the next day. The question is as follows...

CHARACTERS: David O'Sullivan; Max Stuart; Roderic Chamberlain; Helen Deraney; Fr. Tom Dixon; Rupert Murdoch

Choose any of the characters from the movie and discuss how their actions and reactions contribute to the Moral Dilemma that sorrounds the story/case. Give three points from Chapter 2 that would clearly help support your stand.

and SECOND
...reread Chapter 2 very well if there is a need for you to do so; jot down questions you might have on the chapter so we can immediately address it when we get back from the break.

That's All Folks! Finish all your homework/assignments immediately so you can enjoy your break more...do not procrastinate and leave it off to the weekend before school starts. Take care and be safe always if ever you are going out of town or out of the country...be ready to Rock-N-Roll as soon as we get back...and of course...enjoy your vacation! Be good and study well...CIAO!!!
